Cascina Levada

Among the many historic farmhouses that grace the countryside of the Brianza Lecchese area, one of the most interesting one is Cascina Levada in Casatenovo. This is how Cascina Levada is described if you search for references on the web; the building is in an elevated position (“Levada”) between Campofiorenzo and Casatenovo, alongside the provincial road to Lecco.

It has the typical features of an old-style farmhouse, with a portico on the ground floor and a loggia above.

The entrance arch is topped by a terracotta relief with the face of Our Lady of Sorrows.
The farmhouse was renovated in 1998 by Alberto Sada, who owned the building and the beautiful surrounding lands, and then donated to the municipality of Casatenovo.
Materials in keeping with the original ones were used for the renovation, including bricks imported from Belgium. The municipality has allocated the use of the Cascina to offices and a kindergarten.
